The Education Essay Contest 2007
Youth Category grades 6-9/ Junior Category grades 10-12
One winner per category
This contest is organized by the Education Committee of the Tongan Interfaith Collaberative and Pacific Eye Magazine. This contest is part of an on-going attempt to continue to encourage the Tongan youth to continue their education and to study hard. Eligible students must be Tongan, live in the cities of San Bruno, Millbrae, Burlingame and San Mateo. Be sure to read the instructions so that your not disqualified. Please see the Rules.
Rules:
- Essay must be a minimum of 200 word count no more than 400.
- Must be typed and double spaced, in black ink only using standard fonts.
- Any inappropriate, suggestive, or offensive material in the essay will automatically disqualify the contestant.
- Each essay must be attached with a completed registration form and a wallet size picture of contestant. No picture will automatically disqualify the contestant.
- Deadline to turn in your poster is Friday, Nov. 30th .You can mail it to

6. Each contestant must pick one of the questions and answer it to the best of their ability. We encourage creativity and the incorporation of your Tongan culture.
7. We will not except essay’s emailed. It must be handed in to a member of TIC or sent via mail.

- How important is education to you and your family?
- What do you want to be when you grow up?
- Do you feel college is important to be successful in the future? Why or Why Not.
Winners will be announced Friday, Dec. 14th
Prizes:
Youth Category Winner: $150
Junior Category Winner: $250
