Kefu's View Toutai Kefu will do a regular column for the Ikale Tahi site.He will give his views on the upcoming All Blacks game and the last remaining pool game against Canada. Tonga needs to repeat the 1973 feat by the national team in defeating the Wallabies, if it has any chance of reaching the quarterfinals. They have to beat the All Blacks and Canada. The odds are against the Ikale Tahi, however stranger things have happened. Toutai leaves for Japan at the end of the year for a 3 year contract, however after missing out on this years RWC, and forced to watch from his lounge room, he has followed the Ikale Tahi with interest and has suggested that maybe after Japan he will apply for the job going into the next World Cup. "I think after 3 years in Japan, where I will be playing and also coaching, I may have something to offer the Ikale Tahi. My dad has always wanted me to assist Tongan rugby but it was hard due to my commitment with the Wallabies, however that has changed now. I am free and I would like to give something back to my country of birth. In saying that though, I will always be grateful for what Australian Rugby has done for my family and me. Australia will always be my home, that I know." Toutai and Steve his younger brother will present the players with their Jerseys on Friday prior to the game against the All Blacks. |
