New design for the 2003 RWC

The Ikale Tahi today unveiled their new design Jersey for the 2003 RWC. Traditionally the Jersey was all red with a white collar, however following the footsteps of other rugby nations, giving their jerseys a more modern look, the new Ikale Tahi jersey features a solid white piping from the shoulder. The actual players Jersey will be made of polyester/cotton, which is similar to that of the All Blacks with a more body hugging fit and lighter. The St. George Dragons in the Australian Rugby League competition a few years back introduced this concept. It was to make it difficult for opposing players to grab onto the jerseys and effectively make a tackle as well as it’s lightness due to the fact that it doesn’t absorb as much perspiration as the cotton Jerseys do.
