‘io koe mooni oku fakamamahi e ngaahi laumalie ko ena kuo mole atu ka ko hono mooni nae ikai ke i ai haanau totonu ke nau hu ki hengaahi apingaue ko ia. i used to pride myself on being tongan because of the fact that tongans emphasise RESPECT to the hilt. where was the island of christianity we used to boast of? where was the friendly island we never fail to tell the world about? and where was the respect and honor our forefathers have instilled in us. change could have happened. true! but there was no need to push that change with violence and destruction. and there was no need for eight people to lose their lives before that change could happen. where did we learn to be so unchristianlike?? its a question from the lost soul of a tongan.
DEMOCRATIC PARTY - YOU HAVE FAILED!
Negotiating political change is a complete failure. Innocent people should not have been included in the forefront.
Shoreline was already in process towards changes to please pro-democratics but people are just too demanding. Change does not take overnight. You can’t just expect a monarichial system that has been in place for centuries to bend over to democratic demands within a short timeframe.
People need to elect newer peoples’ representatives to parliament who can balance out what is best and safest for everyone and still be able to bring about change peacefully.
It is obvious that speed to money and power control has been overwhelming in democrats’ agenda that it fell short as a goal because it was a very SELFISH motive.
What’s worse! is that people are being pushed over to violate social regulations to make a point to which there was no protection from imprisonment and death. Have peoples’ representatives established a ‘bail out program’ for their die-hard supporters? I don’t think so.
May God bless those families experiencing a loss at this time.
Also, may Tonga’s royal family and monarchial system continue to rule.
Tangi hoku loto he sio hifo ki hono faka’aufa ‘o loto Nuku’alofa. Tulou mo e Tonga kotoa kae ‘oatu e fiekaungamamahi ki he famili kotoa kuo hanga ‘e he kau Temo ‘o fakatukuhausia’i. I wonder if ‘Akilisi Pohiva and his so-called Democrats attend church or even say a silent prayer for Heavenly Father to help guide and direct them in their endeavors. I wonder if they said their family prayers on the morning of November 16th before going off to work. What happened in Nuku’aklofa that day was the work of the Devil.
Tama Tonga tu’u ‘o lotu ke loloa ho ‘aho he kelekele. My word to ‘Uliti Uata is this: He should go and read the Articles of Faith and see what it says about governments and politics. You should be ashamed of yourself. I speak with those who have mentioned, What happened to the Friendly Islands? People of Tonga should go back to the basics - Lotu. Ko e lotu te ne fakamaama e ‘atamai mo ne ‘omai e fakakaukau lelei ka e tuku a fault-finding mo e finger-pointing he ‘ikai te ne ‘omi ha lelei.
My prayers are with you all and Heavenly Father will answer prayers for the righteous.

I do not think the the Demo’s effort has failed. Me’a pango ko e tukuaki’i ai e si’i ngaue lelei ‘a e kakai kehe. Pea ‘oku normal pe ia … ke tukuaki’i e kakai kehe. Wait until the dust settles - he’e ‘asi kotoa pe ki ‘olunga ‘a e mo’oni. Ko e si’i feinga ‘oku fai ‘ehe kau Taki Demo ko e feinga ma’ae fonua fakalukufua. Koe pango kuo tau sio ki ai he uike kuo ‘osi ‘oku ‘ikai koe fua ‘ia ‘o Temokalati (democracy is not violence!)I call those responsible koe fanau leangata’a mo ta’elotu. And may be (MAY BE) ko e tokolahi ‘o kinautolu ko e fanau ne fakafoki atu mei muli ni (not sure of this). When I grew up in Tonga - na’e ‘ikai ke pehe ni e fanau tangata, let alone girls. It is sad to think of all our bright students that have return home to work - and then leave Tonga again because there are no jobs, or the pay is low, pe ‘oku ‘ikai ke fair hono fakalele ‘a e pule’anga mo e fonua etc. Ko e tu’u ‘a e fo’i Piliote he taimi ni - ‘oku ‘iai e ma’ume’a (even millionaires) pea mo e masiva faka’ofa (dirt poors). Pea ke sio ange ki ai - I hope Democracy will prevail in Tonga - he ‘oku fu’u faka’ofa fau e kakai ‘o e fonua. I am sure that the riot was indeed an eye opener to both the thieves and the innocent. ‘Ofa pe ‘e fakakaukau ai ‘a e kau (kaimo’ui mo e kau kaiha’a mo’oni) ke tuku aa pe liliu aa e founga mo e faka’ofa e si’i kakai e fonua. ‘Oku ‘ikai keu poupou’i e angapango ko’eni ne hoko - because I understand e natula ‘oe kau leangata’a mo e ta’elotu. Fa’ahinga ia ‘e ni’ihi ‘oku to’o me’a tau,pe fakalavea’i ‘a e kakai ‘oku nau mamahi ai (ne ‘osi hoko pe mo’ia ‘i Tonga). I think there are a lot of thieves out there in Tonga ‘oku nau ki’i hahaka he me’a na’e hoko. Ko e kau kaiha’a ia koiaa ‘oku toe fakalilifu ange ‘enau ngaue ‘a kinautolu (And those thieves come in many disguise) They come as MPs, Pulefakavahes, kau tauhifonua, men of the cloth, hou’eiki, princes, princesses, you name it…they are there! They travel the globe and present all over the world - ka ‘oku fu’u faka’ofa ‘a Tonga ko’ene si’isi’i taha he kolope ni ka ‘oku faka’uliaange ‘a e kaiha’a ia hono kau taki. I have been gone from Tonga for a long while now - but I read about the business ventures of the royals, some business men and the commoners. There is a big gap in the nature of royals businesses from the commoners businesses. Go figure?
