Brief Bio: Even though Richard was born in Hawaii and currently resides in the United States, he is fiercely proud to have been raised in the beautiful island of Vava’u much of his young life. He attended primary school in ‘Onevai and Fangatongo and was just about to enter middle school when he and his family moved back to the United States. His short but meaningful experience in Vava’u forged a strong love, passion and appreciation for Tonga, Tongan culture, Tongan people and kainga. This trip is his first time to Tonga since he left at the age on nine.
