Tongans Continue to mourn the loss of their King
Activities incurred throughout the mourning period for His Late Majesty of Tonga…

The green grass seemed like it had been vacuumed, especially where all the rubbish use to be. It could be a poster picture for the motto “Keep Tonga Beautiful”. Yet, the reality is that many had put it a lot of time and hard work to comply with traditional rules for cleaning of the Royal Tomb (Mala’e Kula) located in Nuku’alofa. The former college of King Taufa’ahau Tupou IV; namely Toloa College and Queen Salote College took up the responsibility of sweeping the whole field of with their hands.
Showing of Respect with Style
The following are snap shots from various sites from Nuku’alofa to Haveluloto.

“Prime Minister’s Office”

“Church of Tonga – Nuku’alofa”– The decoration suits the fence and creativity seems to be a natural gift for members of this church.

“7 Day Adventist Church”– This was taken early in the morning. It was cloudy and I was hoping for a better lighting, but I didn’t have the time to wait it out due to other commitments that were demanding my time.

LDS-True Church at Mailetaha– It is amazing to see the display of dedication, love and respect. I perceive that the emphasis of purple was due to the highest rank in the Tongan Royals.

“Shoreline Group/TONFON Office”– At first I was stunned of the expressing of respect with black flag. Perhaps, Public Relations proposal for something unique would have been the key to such a display.

“Malietaha Plaza”–On the 2nd level is the main office of TongaSat.
